These terms are a contract between you and Bisai Technologies ("we", "us") for the use of the Civique FR mobile application ("the app"). By installing or using the app you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.

1. What the app is

Civique FR is an independent study aid for the French examen civique required for a first multi-year residence permit (CSP), a first resident card (CR) and naturalisation (NAT). It offers practice questions, timed mock exams in the official format, explanations in several languages, audio, flashcards, a study plan and a readiness estimate.

Civique FR is not affiliated with, endorsed by or approved by the Ministère de l'Intérieur, the CCI Paris Île-de-France or France Éducation International. The app does not register you for the exam, does not deliver the exam and does not issue any certificate. Official information about the exam is published by the Ministry at formation-civique.interieur.gouv.fr, and the official knowledge questions are available there free of charge.

2. Who may use the app

You must be at least 16 years old. You must have the legal capacity to enter into a contract or the permission of a parent or guardian. You may use the app only for your own personal exam preparation.

3. No account

The app has no account, login or password. Your progress is stored on your device, and your only identifier is an anonymous ID generated on the device (see the Privacy Policy). If you lose the device, uninstall the app or reset app data, your progress is gone and we cannot recover it. An active subscription can be re-attached on a new installation with Restore purchases, on the same store account.

4. Free features and Pro subscription

Free forever: all official knowledge questions published by the Ministry for CSP, CR and NAT, the 20-question diagnostic test and readiness report, 20 practice questions per day, one mock exam per week, the exam countdown and the préfecture checklist.

Pro (subscription): unlimited practice, unlimited mock exams, original situation ("mise en situation") questions, explanations in your language, audio, the adaptive daily plan, "explain it differently" AI explanations (up to 20 per day) and every future content pack for this app.

4.1 Plans, prices and renewal

Pro is sold as an auto-renewing subscription through Apple's App Store or Google Play:

The price shown in the app before you confirm is the price you pay, in your store's currency, including VAT where applicable. Payment is charged to your Apple or Google account at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel it at any time in your App Store subscription settings (iOS) or Google Play subscription settings (Android). Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep Pro until the end of the period already paid.

Promotional or introductory prices, where offered, are shown in the app before purchase, together with the price that applies after the promotional period.

4.2 Price changes

If we change the price of a plan, the store will notify you in advance under its rules and, where required, ask for your consent before the new price applies to a renewal.

4.3 Redeem codes

Codes distributed by us or by partner organisations grant Pro access for a fixed period without payment. A code can be used once. Codes have no cash value and are not refundable.

4.4 Refunds and the pass guarantee

Refunds are handled under our Refund Policy. It explains Apple's and Google's refund procedures and our pass guarantee: if the app had marked you "exam-ready" for your route before your exam and you nonetheless fail, we extend your access free of charge or refund your most recent subscription payment, under the conditions stated there.

5. Content

5.1 Sources and accuracy

Questions are written from official public sources (the official question lists and theme sheets published under the Etalab Open Licence 2.0, the arrêté of 10 October 2025 setting the programme, the Constitution, laws and service-public.fr pages). Every question cites its source and the date it was last checked. The exam programme and the law can change; we update content packs over the air and aim to publish corrections within 48 hours of a confirmed report, but we cannot guarantee that every question is current or error-free at every moment. Using the app does not guarantee that you pass the exam.

5.2 Report a problem

Use the Report a problem button on any question to tell us about an error. Do not include personal data in the report.

5.3 AI-generated explanations

The "explain it differently" feature produces text with a generative AI model from the question, its options and its human-written explanation. AI output can contain mistakes. The human-written explanation and the cited source remain the reference.

5.4 Licence to you

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app and its content on devices you own or control, for your own exam preparation. You may not copy, extract, scrape, redistribute, sell, or publicly post the question bank, explanations, translations, audio or images; reverse-engineer the app or its content packs; circumvent the free-tier limits, the subscription check or the pack signature; or use automated tools to access our server. Open-licence material included in the app remains under its own licence (see the in-app Sources screen and legal/about).

6. Your content

Notes you type stay on your device. Problem reports and guarantee claims you send us may be used to correct content and handle your claim. You grant us a non-exclusive licence to use the text of problem reports for that purpose.

7. Availability and changes

The app works offline for all study features. Content updates, AI explanations, purchases and restore require a connection. We may change, add or remove features, content and plans, and may discontinue the app with at least 30 days' notice in the app; an active subscription is then refunded pro rata or not renewed, at our choice, and no further charges are made.

8. Warranties and liability

The app is provided "as is" for exam preparation. To the extent permitted by law, we exclude all implied warranties and are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, exam fees, travel costs, lost income, or the outcome of any exam or immigration procedure. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid us for the app in the 12 months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or the mandatory consumer rights described in section 10.

9. Termination

You may stop using the app at any time by cancelling your subscription and uninstalling. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms (in particular sections 5.4 and 6), with a refund of any unused subscription period only if the breach was not intentional.

10. Consumer rights

If you live in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you have mandatory rights under your local consumer law that these terms do not reduce, including the right to a conforming digital service and remedies for non-conformity. Right of withdrawal: because Pro is digital content supplied immediately, you acknowledge at purchase that performance begins at once; refund requests within 14 days are handled by Apple or Google under their withdrawal procedures, described in our Refund Policy.

Mediation (France): after contacting us, a French consumer may refer any unresolved dispute free of charge to the consumer mediator [MEDIATEUR_CONSOMMATION] (article L612-1 of the Code de la consommation).

11. Governing law and courts

These terms are governed by the law of the State of Delaware, United States. If you are a consumer, you also benefit from the mandatory provisions of the law of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings before the courts of that country.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The new version is published at the URL above with a new version number and effective date; material changes are announced in the app at least 15 days before they take effect. If you do not accept a change, cancel your subscription before the effective date.
